Naruto is a very influential shinobi in the eyes of Ebisu. Naruto is someone who Ebisu recognizes as someone with the capability to be a savior, and not only that but he is someone that Ebisu sees as being stronger than him. It’s not easy for Ebisu to admit that he’s wrong, or that he’s weaker than another, yet he accepts it easily with Naruto.
He has a somewhat strained relationship with the blond, mostly due to their exchanges when Naruto was much younger, Ebisu’s harsh judgement, which he recognizes in his current age, as being incorrect. Despite never telling the ramen loving boy that he would, Ebisu would gladly lay his life on the line for Naruto and he would stand up for Naruto if anyone would doubt him. Much like Konohamaru, Ebisu has no doubts that Naruto will become Hokage.
