✌: A character I played on a whim and FELL IN LOVE WITH
You’re actually sort of looking at him. It wasn’t really a whim that I took Ebisu up as a muse, but it is sort of strange that I became so involved with him after picking him up. He just came to me naturally, we ‘get along’ so to speak. I would like to think that I play him well enough, and for me, Ebisu is special. He’s a muse that I honestly adore, which is almost surprising.
❅: A character I’m tempted to play
I want to play a freaking Tenten so badly I can’t even stand it, however there are a lot of them and I don’t think I’d ever make one because there are already so many lovely Tenten blogs and I wouldn’t feel worthy. Maybe one day.
✔: What got me into roleplaying
Well, I’d say other roleplayers got me into roleplaying rather simply enough. I used to only original character roleplay on a forum site, but I stopped a few years ago. Then what happened was I found tumblr and more specifically I accidentally found and then followed a few Naruto roleplay blogs. A Sakura, a Kakashi and maybe a Naruto. I watched their interactions pop up on my dash and I thought, man roleplaying is great, I want to do that too. But I actually started roleplaying in another fandom— Final Fantasy— I didn’t move over to Naruto until recently, an I had a Fuu blog, which I eventually deleted, and now i have an Ebisu and a Kimimaro. ♥
☢: Something about my character that I’ve never explored but want to
This is actually a fairly difficult to answer question. Personally there isn’t a lot about Ebisu that I haven’t figured out myself. I know the character I roleplay fairly well, and I think that he’s misunderstood and discredited as a serious Naruto character quite often.
I think if there was anything I’d want to explore it would simply be for people to take him more seriously. To send in more serious asks, to treat him like the serious shinobi he is towards the later end of Shippuden rather than being stuck on their first impression of Ebisu in the beginning episodes of Naruto.
It’s true that he’s a pervert, but Ebisu is much, much more than a pervert. He’s a stern, loyal, judgmental but true-hearted ninja. He values his fellow shinobi, he is competitive but he’s more than capable of giving his life for his cause, for his village, for his friends. He’s more than a ‘closet’ pervert, but, alas, the thing about having a smaller side character is that people only remember certain traits they display from time to time, so sometimes the asks and interactions get a bit one-sided.
